Ballet Inspired

Hello beautiful people!
Long time no see! Firstly, I would like to apologize for my long absence from this blog. I've been extremely busy these past few months with finishing up the school semester and with finals. But it's now May and school is officially over so I'll have more time to dedicate to this blog. Technically, I also have spring courses but they're two option courses so hopefully the workload won't be very much. Fingers crossed that that is true!

Anyways, the other day I was on Buzzfeed and I saw an article about ballet inspired fashion and I was inspired to do a similar fashion post too.I think that ballerinas display so much beauty, grace, and poise. Their fashion is not only functional but is also girly and elegant. There's three articles of clothing that's quite iconic for ballerinas: the wrap top, tulle tutu, and ballet slippers. The tulle tutu is not always appropriate outside of a dance studio so for my ballet-inspired picks I've picked a similar style skirt but in a chiffon material. I also picked out ballet inspired flats than actual ballet slippers.

If you want to find out where to get any of the items in this post then you can just click the little picture icons along the bottom of the collage and it'll take you to the site where you can get it.

This first look is a ballerina-inspired splurge look. It's the kind of look that I would pick if money wasn't a problem. I don't think I would have the money to buy all of this anytime soon but a girl can dream.
I paired a gray wrap top with a mint blue chiffon mini skirt. I think that those two colours pair so great together. For shoes I picked a pair of pale pink ballet flats with a bow and a crystal embellished heel. There's a bit of a heel so it provides a bit of height but it's still really comfortable The crystal detail on the heel is also really elegant and pretty. For accessories, I've gone really simple with a gold and white watch and flower pearl studs. If you do any sort of dance, I think this look would also work really well. Just switch out the shoes for ballet slippers and take off the watch then you would be good to go.

This second look is a more wallet friendly look and would be something that everyone could totally afford. The wrap top for this look is very similar to the previous top but more cropped. The skirt is a similar style and is also chiffon like the previous skirt but in a dusty pink colour. This dusty pink colour is similar to the colour of some ballerina slippers that I've seen before. I've paired this with a pair of flats that are even more ballet inspired than the last pair. These flats are also pale pink but they're more flat and also has the straps around the ankle like actual ballet slippers. Once again, I've paired this with a similar watch style and earrings.

Hopefully you enjoy this fashion post! I hope you all have a good day and leave in the comments if you want me to do any other fashion inspired posts.

Welcome to my blog!

Hello beautiful people! I am a 20 year old university student living in the wonderful, but cold, land of Canada! I like to call myself a dreamer since I'm a bit on the optimistic, whimsical, unrealistic side. My favorite things include books, desserts, Disney movies, and superhero TV shows (Arrow is my favorite). I would like to use this blog to share some of my inner rambles, favorite quotes, pics, fashion pieces, beauty looks, and fangirling over books and TV shows. Let's enjoy the ride, shall we?
